The atheist event of the year will be here before we know it, and I wanted you to be among the first to know what to expect at our national convention March 28-31. We are proud to present one of our most diverse and compelling line-ups of speakers yet. Register today because you are not going to want to miss out!

This year, we are extremely excited to have Kate Cohen joining us in Philadelphia. She’s an Albany-based author, a Washington Post contributing columnist, and an award-winning documentary scriptwriter. Her latest book, We of Little Faith: Why I Stopped Pretending to Believe (and Maybe You Should Too), chronicles Kate’s journey from Reform Jew to outspoken atheist and argues that nonbelievers should be more vocal, not only to enjoy more honest lives but also to help save America.

Attendees will also get the chance to hear from Sarah Stankorb, journalist and author of the national best-seller Disobedient Women: How a Small Group of Faithful Women Exposed Abuse, Brought Down Powerful Pastors, and Ignited an Evangelical Reckoning. Sarah has published hundreds of articles about religion, politics, feminism, and more in the Washington Post, The New York Times, Cosmopolitan, O Magazine, Marie Claire, Vogue, Longreads, Glamour, Catapult, Slate, The Guardian, The Atlantic, CNNMoney, and Salon.

Also joining us: co-founder of SciMoms, award-winning science journalist, and highly sought-after speaker Kavin Senapthy, whose work has appeared in Slate, SELF, The Daily Beast, Salon, SciShow, Forbes, and more. Kavin is also the author of the forthcoming book, The Progressive Parent: Harnessing the Power of Science and Social Justice to Raise Awesome Kids.

As always, our team at American Atheists is committed to bringing brand-new stories to the stage, plus the world’s leading experts on the issues that matter most to our community.

For our 2024 convention, we are honored to welcome a trio of speakers whose dedication to liberating Americans from religious indoctrination and abuse is an inspiration: Jasper Hoffman is a leading expert on the hidden crimes within the Amish and Mennonite church and the founder and producer of the internationally top-ranked The Plain People’s Podcast. Also speaking will be Mary Byler and Randall Martin of The Misfit Amish, an organization that provides support and evidence-based resources to survivors and individuals still trapped within Amish and Mennonite communities. They are currently collaborating on a peer-reviewed study of Amish and Anabaptist child sexual abuse with Dr. Tara Mitchell of Lock Haven University.

These are just some of the speakers you can look forward to at this year’s convention. With four days of presentations, performances, workshops, and fun social activities, this is a conference you won’t want to miss.

Plus, you’ll be surrounded by hundreds of fellow atheists and nonreligious folks in the heart of Center City – just steps from Philadelphia’s City Hall. Whether you’re looking forward to reuniting with old friends or hoping to make new ones, reserve your ticket today!

See you soon,

Nick Fish
President
