Dear Friend,
Great changes are happening in the field department! I’d like to introduce our new National Field Organizer, Ruwaida Shaikh. She comes to us with a wealth of experience across nonprofit, political, and grassroots spaces.
She has worked with organizations like VOCAL-NY, Democracy Rising, the NYC City Council, and Democratic Socialists of America, leading voter outreach, coalition building, membership engagement, and large-scale community campaigns. With a background in psychology and human resources, Ruwaida brings a people-centered, systems-focused approach to organizing. She will be working with me to further strengthen our 230+ affiliates around the country and help them grow their community service and advocacy projects.
Ruwaida is proud of her Indian heritage and multi-cultural upbringing in Dubai, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Resources and a postgraduate certificate in Psychology.
