The New York legislature passed three great bills, but Governor Hochul still needs to sign them into law before time runs out. Instead, she’s threatening to reject them!
- The Hospital Transparency Act would let patients see which hospitals in their area provide the care they need, including life-saving reproductive and gender-affirming care. Patients deserve transparency!
- The Health Information Privacy Act would ensure that New Yorkers have control over their most sensitive data — not big tech companies, government entities, or bad actors! Everyone deserves privacy!
- And Shield Law 2.0 will safeguard access for people seeking reproductive and gender-affirming care — and protect the people providing it. It is so important that New York close gaps in its current shield laws, especially as extremists in other states (and at the highest levels of government) are targeting our loved ones and the medical professionals helping them!
We know Governor Hochul cares about protecting health care for all New Yorkers. She’s been a champion for women’s reproductive rights and for the LGBTQ+ community. Just last week, she signed legislation to make other kinds of life-saving medical care more affordable and accessible!
All we’re asking is that she keep up this good work, and once again lead the nation in signing these three urgent bills into law! Here’s how you can help:
