Dear Members,
Over the past year, NYC Atheists has undergone a major transition following the passing of both Ken & Rad. We miss them greatly and continue to carry on their legacy.
While we have been a bit quiet due to previous email limitations, we have continued our operations and met regularly. We meet every Wednesday on Zoom at 8:30PM-10:00PM with an after hours session. We also meet at Phebe’s Tavern & Grill 4 times a year during the 5th Sundays at 1:00PM-3:00PM. We also meet with other secular and Humanist groups at the NYSEC Meeting House every 1st & 4th Fridays at 7:00PM-9:00PM.
We are working to expand our activities such as launching a virtual Atheists library, restart tabling outreach, publishing newsletters, and developing an advice blog. We want to provide our marginalized community with a space to feel welcome and connect with one another.
We reestablished a board of directors earlier in the year and will have elections shortly.
NYC Atheists is seeking candidates interested in running for election to our Board of Directors. Serving on the Board is an excellent opportunity to support our mission, contribute to the organization’s growth, and help guide its future.
This year, half of the current Board will retain their seats, while the remaining half, along with a few vacant positions, will be up for election.
You’ll find the candidate submission form at the end of the email.
