Together, we are hitting the ground running in 2025. Thanks to the financial support of our members, we are launching the 2025 State of the Secular States report today.
With this easy-to-use tool, activists like you and lawmakers in all 50 states plus Puerto Rico and DC can quickly assess which issues are crucial in their respective state, and how to affect change.
As you know, much of the most harmful legislation is happening in the states. This is where White Christian Nationalists are pushing for more and more extreme policies, and that’s where we are focusing our strategy to counteract their hateful ideology.
The work that has gone into this report is remarkable. We have monitored more than 1,100 bills across the country and analyzed more than 60 areas of law to compile this report, making the issues easily understandable and actionable for advocates at any level of experience. We highlight such topics as the spread of draconian abortion restrictions, discriminatory anti-LGBTQ and anti-trans policies, and a troublingly successful effort to privatize and Christianize public schools.
