I can’t tell you how much we at American Atheists value our network of incredible volunteer State Directors and Affiliate leaders. Day in and day out, they do amazing and important work. The communities they are building are vibrant and lasting—a vital lifeline for atheists and nonreligious Americans across the country.
I deeply appreciate the opportunity to work with such a dedicated group of people. They are our power, and what they’re accomplishing is not easy. Their efforts deserve to be recognized and supported!
Toward that end, and as part of our strategic plan, we’re developing comprehensive guides and toolkits that will help leaders start and sustain atheist groups. These new and improved resources will cover everything from fundraising and volunteer management to marketing and outreach. We will offer online and in-person training sessions, leadership summits, and workshops focused on community building, organizing techniques, and ideas for engaging members in activism and service in the places they live.
We’re also promoting collaboration by providing opportunities for group leaders to connect, share best practices, and work on joint initiatives. Our online platforms will facilitate networking and resource-sharing nationwide, and we’ll encourage groups to affiliate with American Atheists for exclusive resources and support.
I’m thrilled about our plan for the future and believe it will make a significant impact. By fostering community and building a robust, nationwide, grassroots infrastructure for change, we’ll make sure our members and volunteers always have a voice in our work and the support they need.
