Then authors David Orenstein\, Ph.D. and Linda Blaikie\, LSCW\, will discuss their upcoming book:\n\nGodless Grace: How Non-Believers are Making the World Safer\, Richer and Kinder\n \n \n \n“Atheists and other nonbelievers are per se immoral. … Since god is the source of all morality\, it’s impossible for a nonbeliever to be a good person.” \nThat’s the conventional wisdom\, especially among fundamentalist Christians. And it’s utterly false. Hint: fear of hell has nothing to do with it! \nGoing beyond the individual profiles\, Godless Grace presents a comprehensive picture of nonbelief around the world and predicts where the movement is heading. DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Ellen Johnson\, Executive Director of Enlighten the Vote (see here) and former American Atheists President \nTopic: How We Can Get Politicians to Pay Attention to Us \nThe Democrats have Hillary\, the Republicans have Carly\, the Germans have Angela Merkel\, and we Atheists have Ellen Johnson. \nIf you don’t know who Ellen Johnson is\, then you have missed out on an important part of Atheist history. Ellen was the protégée of American Atheist founder Madalyn Murray O’Hair\, who was murdered in 1995.  After O’Hair and her family went missing that year\, Ellen Johnson kept AA going for the next 13 years. \nAs president of AA\, Johnson represented us on TV\, radio\, and all media – including Larry King Live\, Good Morning America\, Fox News and MSNBC\, to mention but a few. She brought a youthful dignity and wisdom to the atheist movement. \nAfter leaving the presidency of AA\, Ellen went on to establish and lead the Atheist organization “Enlighten the Vote\,” dedicated to supporting Atheist candidates for public office and to advancing the Atheist cause through political and legislative means. Johnson is speaking to us at our Brunch on October 11\, on how we can advance our cause by winning political power. \nJohnson tells us: \nAre you tired of being ignored by politicians whom you keep in office with your votes?
